Mumpreneur Monday | Sew Darn Cute

03/12/2018

This week on Mumpreneur Monday I am delighted to introduce Jill from Sew Darn Cute.

Jill is 35 and I lives in Surrey with her husband and two little boys. Previously Jill was an accountant but she always had a passion for being creative. She enjoys a variety of crafts and cake making, although thanks to two toddlers she has very little time for those now.

Jills career in accounting was put on hold whilst she had her two boys. Shortly after having her second son she became totally addicted to buying handmade clothes. Being that Jill is a creative at heart and already had a sewing machine, she purchased her first piece of jersey and decided to have a go at making some baby harems herself.  The outcome was brilliant and she was overjoyed with her achievement so she decided to make a hoodie for her older son. She was hooked! Jill says her business really grew organically from there although it was never intentional. Friends asked for clothes... then friends of friends...and so on. She bought herself an overlocker and it was there that Sew Darn Cute was born.

Jill says that she loves what she does and that love shows into every garment she makes. It's something she feels truly passionate about and it has given her so much joy. Jill struggled with Post Natal Anxiety after her second sons birth and Sew Darn cute was a huge part of her recovery. Jill says “It gives me so much pleasure seeing my creations being worn and loved”

I have been lucky enough to get to know Jill over the past couple of months and I was absolutely thrilled when she sent my boys two dinosaur tops. When they arrived in the post I was blown away. Firstly the designs were so unique. I have never seen a design like that in any shop. They are super high quality, warm, stretchy and they don't fray or shrink in the wash. I wouldn't be able to get that kind of quality in high street shops (without spending a small fortune) My husband who doesn't particularly care for kids clothes was also really taken with them and he was so impressed with the quality. A definite seal of approval!

I have spent allot of time looking at Jills Instagram page and I am totally hooked. The styles and fabrics she offers are so unique. Jill creates clothing that is truly special and it has been a privilege to work with her. She is a bloomin brilliant Mumpreneur and I am sure that Sew Darn Cute will continue to grow as time goes on. I will most definitely be a regular customer.

I would love it if you could head over to Sew Darn Cutes social platforms and show Jill some love! You might find a few things catch your eye whilst you are there :-)
