Hippychick review | The Hipseat

I was recently invited to look at Hippychick – A company dedicated to sourcing products that makes parents lives easier. Anything that makes parenting easier is a definite winner for me! So of course I took a look.

Having looked at the products available I was really interested in trying out the Hipseat. The Hipseat is Hippychick’s flagship product known as “The Back saving baby carrier” We all know how uncomfortable propping a clingy baby up on the side of your hip can be so I knew I had to try it.

The Hipseat is renowned for its durability, style and comfort. It is tough, hardwearing and machine washable, so can go anywhere with you! Specifically designed to address one of the root causes of adult back pain, the Hipseat provides a firm shelf for the child to sit on and supports their increasingly heavy weight from underneath. Instead of twisting the spine, the parent's back stays straight and the child is tucked into the chest, providing comfort and security for both adult and child.

When The Hipseat arrived at the weekend I put it straight on. It’s really easy to adjust and tighten. As soon as I placed my 7 month old onto the seat I could instantly feel a difference. I walked around the house surprised at how little effort I had to put in to keep him in place. I then decided to try it on my 2 year old. I don’t generally carry him on my hip anymore but the hip seat can be used for babies from 6 months – 3 years so I thought I would try it. My 2 year old is fairly sturdy and he felt so much lighter on it!

This isn’t a baby carrier in the sense of “baby wearing” You only have one hand free but it’s ideal for getting things done around the house and trips to the park etc. Its an easy way to save your back when you have the buggy but your baby doesn’t want to be put down (like mine does all the time) You can use it anywhere anytime!

Since having my second baby I find that I do allot of “hip balancing” so I just know this carrier is going to be the answer to my prayers! I also love the style of it and the fact its so easy to put on and take off.

The Hipseat comes with a really nice cotton drawstring bag so it’s easy to take around. You can also purchase the Deluxe Boxed Hipseat which includes a waist extender and accessory pouch.

I don’t have a bad word to say about this product and would highly recommend it to my friends. Thanks so much to Hippychick for asking me to review it! It’s a winner in our household.

The HipSeat usually retails at £39.95. However for the month of May they have 20% off so now is the time to buy! Just visit www.hippychick.com and use the code POTMM17 at checkout.
